Virtual Escape - GMTK 2024
The Story
In this 2D puzzle platformer you play as a girl who awakens one day to find herself trapped inside her computer! Scale browsers and solve puzzles in order to find a way forward.
How to Get Around
WASD - move and jump
Each window can be interacted with in different ways, as shown by indicators on the top menu bar. Below is a helpful guide in case you get stuck!
- Can be moved freely
- Can be scaled horizontally
- Can be scaled vertically
- Can be scaled in any direction
- The player is currently in this window, and it cannot be interacted with

Install instructions
If you are having issues running the Web build, try downloading one of the builds above. Then follow the instructions below based on the downloaded build.
Windows Build Instructions
Unpack the zip and run "virtual-escape.exe".
- If you see the "Windows protected your PC" popup, select "More info" and then "Run anyway"
Linux Build Instructions
Unpack the zip and run "virtual-escape".
MacOS Build Instructions
Please refer to the Godot documentation: Running Godot apps on macOS
- Follow section "App is signed (including ad-hoc signatures) but not notarized"
